Mordrager

Quiet fields and rolling farmlands betray the simple nature of Mordrager–set up initially as a fortress overlooking the sea, over time it grew into a proper city, with multiple small farming hamlets rising up around the main castle. The count that lords over the area is known for his harsh take on rogues and criminal behavior, and there is much public praise for the law keepers of the place. On a great slab of stone, cut from the meagre quarries nearby before they ran dry over a decade ago, is a comparatively list of names. One for each member of the city who is murdered. The count prides himself on keeping this list small, and the whole city has been seen going into grief for adding but a single name. This stone acts as a reminder to all the criminals in the area, that their victims are etched forever, but their own names are not. `Mordrager is also the site of an old elven vault, containing a powerful artifact from before humans settled the land. Most are unaware of its presence, but a certain group has found whispers of it, and plan to upturn the city trying to get at it.
